A basket for a box!

Last night while the rest of my family went to watch the high school basketball team, I stayed home to catch up on orders.  I also made one new basket for my etsy site...

The basket fits perfectly in this box that my husband brought home from work.  I've got him trained!  He saw this box sitting in the factory, waiting to be broken down and recycled.  Knowing that I need lots of boxes and sometimes oddly shaped boxes, he rescued this box and brought it home.  What could I do, but weave a basket to fit in the box!

I will not be listing any additional baskets on my etsy site until after 1/1/2012.  I will let you all know when there are new ones!
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

Working with other Etsy Artists

If you follow my other blog, A hole in the basket primitives, you will remember that I recently did a post about my love of Etsy.  I purchased a cute pumpkin pinkeep from Susan of Olde Threads.  Susan requested a Cherokee Comb basket with a white wash finish to  use for display with her stitchery work.

Not only is Susan a wonderful artist, she is also great with the camera!  I told her she could take pictures of all my baskets from now on!

Gathering Basket & Wool Storage Basket

I've listed a couple of new baskets on my Etsy site  -

The "Gathering Basket" -

The above is what I had in mind when I was weaving this basket - a nice collection of prim items displayed on my dining room table - a couple of butter paddles and a crock tied with homespun and dried pods.

This is NOT what I envisioned - but should have known...

Please note: NONE of the contents are included with the basket!

The Wool Storage Basket...

Little Mr. Shadow can't squeeze himself into this one - the top is too small!  Ha!

Rug Hooking Tote

Just listed on my Etsy shop - a great tote basket for rug hooking, or quilting, or knitting, or stitching, or..

The bottom of the basket is a wooden base - great for support when you carry extra large/extra heavy loads.
1" wide brown cotton Shaker tape handles.

If all brown isn't your thing, I have another basket just like this one, but with burgundy handles & accents.

Another Berry Basket

Almost immediately after I listed my last berry basket, it sold - Thank you Teresa!  I just finished another one, using a slightly different color - this one is called "Thatched Roof".  Love that name.  Wouldn't that be a great job to name paint colors?  We are testing out 2 different grays to paint our house, one is Stealth Jet and the other Dark Cavern.  Do you major in adjectives to get a job like that?  Sorry, back to the baskets......  Small Shaker Berry Basket

The second basket is this little storage basket made with antique clothespins for legs.

As an added bonus, this basket will arrive with 5 antique clothespins in the basket if you wish to use it as a display basket in your primitive laundry room.

Both are now listed on my Etsy Shop.

Thanks for visiting.  ~Ann

My New Favorite Basket

I know, I always say this whenever I make a new basket, but this is my now favorite!

I made a square market basket, stained it and then wrapped the handle with black rug hooking wool.  I whip stitched the wool around the handle so it's tight and won't slide.

Close up of the label...

It's now in my Etsy shop.
