After tweaking this bucket, I'm very happy with how it turned out. I painted an antique sap bucket satin black and attached prim labels. I designed the labels myself, printed them out and darkened them with boiled black walnut stain. The bucket appears to be full of chicken feed with a stick in the middle - maybe to swat at that pesky honking goose? Actually the stick is the handle to the lid and the corn is glued onto a wooden insert lid so there's plenty of storage space under the lid. Close up of the label - the one on the other side is identical.

Hi Ann, how very cute - and you did a wonderful job on the label....I've ordered labels because I have no extra time to print and grunge...wish I did because they would come out they way I want them.
ReplyDeleteGreat job!
Thanks for visiting my blog today!
Hugs, Karen
Ann,
ReplyDeleteI love it!! And your baskets look great too!! I have hundreds of baskets ... I always have to have something special built when we move into a new home to hold them! Right now I am really appreciating dark baskets!
Karen, I know what you mean about being busy. I find it hard just to catch up on what is going on with everyone. I find it hard to read between orders and design. You should custom order your labels. I custom make them for my customers and have decided to start selling them.
I love Ann's ripped edge. That is how I like to do my labels for most things, because they look really aged. And the walnut gives it a really aged look that you can't beat! Of course that bucket is so cute ... it is a must have for any Colonial or Pioneer decor!
Have a Blessed Weekend!!
