It feels like Fall!

The weather here is SO nice.  It almost felt like Fall today - just had to create something Fall-ish.

The contents of the basket ARE included with the basket - an autumn pod candle ring and blackened beeswax battery operated candle.

I did check the calendar and it's still July!

Giveaway Time!

It's that time - giveaway time!

Do you know Marly from Santa's and Sampler's blog (found HERE)  Marly is a cross stitcher superb.  She's also VERY generous with her talents, she has many free patterns on her blog and is always sharing her finishing tecniques with us.  Marly also has a great sense of humor, I'm always laughing by the end of her blog posts.

Awhile back Marly asked me if I'd like some basket materials she had left over from her basket weaving days.....well of course I would!  She sent me a kit for this basket.  In honor of her kind and generous nature, I'm going to give away the finished basket.  Here it is.....

Once I finished the weaving, I gave it a dunk in my homemade black walnut dye. It's the perfect size to carry your cross stitch projects in (or rug hooking, or needle felting, or......)

1.  I would love it if you were a follower of my blog and of Marly's (again, found HERE, while you are there, please tell her Thanks! )

2.  Leave a comment on this post

3.  Live in the USA

I will draw a name on Friday July 12. Please make sure I can get a hold of you for your address, whether I can get you through your own blog or by email.  I'll give you until Sunday July 14 to respond to my email - otherwise I'll redraw.

Double Pouch Cherokee Comb Basket

Happy Easter.

Were your Easter Baskets filled?  It's a sad day for my children - they don't have homemade Easter Baskets.....Isn't there a saying about the cobbler's children never having shoes?  I did notice that there wasn't any complaining about the candy in their store bought cheapo plastic baskets!

New today on Etsy - A double pouch Cherokee Comb Basket.
Love the dark brown color, with just a hint of barn red to it.

I've been busy lately making Shaker Cheese Baskets.  These baskets are approximately 15" in diameter and 4" deep.  While I don't have any currently for sale in my Etsy shop, they can be ordered.  Just send me an email or a conversation on Etsy.  $35.00 plus $9.00 shipping.

I've been weaving!

A lull in my Mom schedule gave me the opportunity to weave a little over the weekend.

Painted Peg Basket

Painted Market Basket with Wool Label - Medium
~~~Sold ~~~Thank you P!
 Painted Market Basket with Wool Label - Smaller Version
 Americana "Hide the Utensils" Basket
Special order - Shaker Cat Head Basket - Thank you Peggy!
Have to share this funny with you - our daughter calls me to her room to look at the "spoiled cat".  Yes, he is spoiled, you can see she's lined the basket with a nice fleece throw to make sure he's comfy.
She's spoiled too - I made this basket for me!  I had felted wool stored in this basket when she commented on it, telling me how much she liked it.  It now resides in spoiled child's room to hold the more spoiled Graybinator.
Happy President's Day!
